CfC
Meeting in Scotland
The
last meeting, or a chance to relaunch?
As
Professor Ewan Anderson explains in his President’s Log, the
Board of Caring for Children has decided that CfC should be wound
up, and the meeting to be held in Glasgow at the FICE Congress could
be its last. (It will be held at 5.00 p.m. on Thursday 9 September.)
This
will leave FICE unrepresented in England and Wales, though FICE
Scotland will of course be carrying on as before.
If
any reader is interested in maintaining CfC or establishing an alternative
National Section of FICE in the England and Wales, they will be
welcome to raise the possibility, either through the Webmag or at
the FICE Congress.
Britain
is not strong on international links, and the loss of a FICE connection
in England and Wales will be sad. It is useful to share ideas, see
the services provided in other countries and network with practitioners
in other countries. Let us hope that the demise of CfC leads to
the development of a new organisation and new enthusiasm for international
links.
Remember,
it is still possible to book for the FICE Congress in Glasgow.
The theme is Creating a Place for Children, and
the programme is packed with all sorts of subjects from
a lot of countries. Meet delegates from round the world
and hear what is going on in other countries. Click
