BE A CORRESPONDENT

We need a steady flow of material from around the world in order to keep children : International true to its name, and we therefore wish to nominate Correspondents in each country.

Correspondents will be expected to :

- identify writers who will be prepared to contribute articles and other material concerning childcare and social education in their own country,

- identify material already published which warrants a wider readership through the web magazine, subject to the authors' and publishers' permission,

- contribute material themselves, if they so wish,

- encourage other people in their country to read children, and to contribute.

It may be that Correspondents will also be invited to act as members of the Journal's Editorial Board.

The material which Correspondents will be asked to identify for use in children includes :

- news items that may be of international interest
- items for the Webmag section
- articles for the professional International section
- articles for the academic Journal section, when it is established
- items by children and young people
- book reviews
- photographs and other pictorial material.

Clearly, it will not be necessary for every country to provide material in every issue, but it is hoped that a good variety of topics will be covered by writers from many countries in the course of each year. The web magazine offers an excellent opportunity to make contact, share ideas and raise your country's profile.

We cannot offer to translate material into English, but we shall be pleased to edit articles where some polishing of the language will help the flow. Material can be included in other languages, but since English is the main language of the magazine, a summary in English will be required and assurances may be required from a responsible third party to ensure that the material does not contain anything obscene or libellous.

Anyone interested in acting as a Correspondent should email the Editor.
