'The Connect Conference'
Refresh - you, your skills, your training

The 4th Connect Conference will be held from lunchtime on 31st January to lunchtime on 1st February 2006 at the Hayes Conference Centre in Swanwick. The cost will be £80 per person. Please put these dates in your diary now!

The keynote speaker will be Dave Carr. There will be an after dinner talk on Film and Theology by Dr Elaine Storkey.
There will also be workshops on designing a training session, theological reflection in training, and others plus prayer and social time. The workship coordinator will be Dave Wiles.

Booking forms and more details on the workshops and speakers will be sent out early in November.

INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF SOCIAL PEDAGOGY

8 - 11 March 2006

The College of Education of the University of São Paulo, the Center of Culture and Extension of the Presbyterian Mackenzie University and the College of Social Service of the University Center UniFMU have the pleasure to communicate the accomplishment of the I International Congress of Social Pedagogy, in the period of 08 to the 11.03.2006, in São Paulo. The signatory institutions have as intention to make an ample rocking on the development of the Social Pedagogy in Brazil and the Europe, to analyze the available resources for the technician formation and professionals who act in the social areas in Brazil, as well as identifying research of tip, centers of in progress formation and experiences. The final result of this effort must be the creation of a Course of Specialization in Social Pedagogy in the College of Education of the University of São Paulo, as our proposal to propitiate a formation more qualified and specialized for the workers of the social area and the many Operators of the System of Guarantee of Rights, especially, shelters, measures partner-educative, penitentiary system and social projects.

We invite V.Sª and its institution to participate and to assist in the spreading of the Congress.

Creativity's the theme for The Education Show 2006

March 9-11 2006

Creativity will flow through the heart of the national show for educational resources when it returns to the NEC in Birmingham.

The Education Show 2006 will offer a unique opportunity for education professionals at all levels to view the latest products on the market for pre-school to nineteen.

It will also address key issues spanning all subject areas, with a particular focus on core curriculum subjects such as English, Maths and Science.

And exciting initiatives and networking opportunities taking place within the show will make it an invaluable day out for teachers of all specialisms.

Said Briony Mansell-Lewis, Head of Events at Show organisers Emap Education: "We have many new and exciting features that we feel will inspire creativity in teaching and learning at all levels.

"The first annual NASEN Poetry Competition will be taking place at the show and a Creativity in Practice area as part of the Art and Design Zone will feature primary and secondary workshops from Creative Partnerships and exhibitors as well as live lessons from primary and secondary schools."
