The Scottish Institute for Residential Child Care

SIRCC was established in 2000 with the aim of ensuring ‘that residential child care staff throughout Scotland have access to the skills and knowledge that they required to meet the needs of the children in their care’.

Together, their different organisational cultures and their collaborative ways of working ensure a varied approach to developing a professionally qualified workforce.

SIRCC has a specialist library and is also involved in research, policy and practice development, consultancy, conferences and various publications such practice guidelines, a journal and newsletters
