Happy
New Year!
We’ve
been going for four years now, and so the Editorial focuses on the
Webmag’s development.
Special
Issue : Time in Residence
But
there’s far too much going on to spend a long while looking
at ourselves. We have a Special Issue publishing some of the papers
from the recent York Group day seminar on the length of time young
people spend in residence.

Articles
and Columns
We
have a fascinating short survey of current work with gangs by Dave
Wiles. Keith White, being a liberal (here used with a small l), argues
for censorship. The people from Hesley support the lifeboats. The
parliamentarians debate the Green Paper. Bluebrick teeters on the
edge of chaos. And Terry Hoon, remembering his youth, goes back a
thousand years.
Cuttings
And
then, of course, there are the bits and pieces in Cuttings. What a
lot has happened in the last month. Paedophiles to get an amnesty?
Barnardo’s withdrawing advertisements. Yellow Pages under attack.
Feral Children. And a lot more.
International
We
end with two reports - one on developments in South East Europe, and
one of an eye-opening student placement in Chile.
