The
main theme this month is risk. Keith White has pointed out the risks
of risk avoidance, and Honor Trey argues for a more balanced view
of risk, taking account of social care factors. The NCH research also
points out the dangers of unhealthy eating.
The
second theme concerns the Webmag and FICE.
We
are looking for an Editor who will help us achieve two-way communication
with the readership. Interested? Get in touch.

We
are also encouraging everyone to come to Glasgow in September, when
FICE will be holding its International Congress. There should be plenty
of opportunity to meet people from other countries and learn about
what they are doing, as well as sample Scottish hospitality.
We
also have Ewan Anderson talking of antipodean issues, Hesley writing
about a Curriculum Trail, Gus Greene on about rotas and a new regular
column – Donna. And of course there is Cuttings, including the
future of residential care, international adoptions, expert witnesses,
the prosecution of paedophiles, and Nanny Smith.
