Stuck in a cell for two whole nights

Waiting to be interviewed

and say 'Goodnight'

A normal Friday just the same

Something's happened and I've got the blame

Get chucked in a cell on my own

Get my solicitor on the phone!

Sat there for hours doing nothing

Me and my cell mate waiting and counting

Don't ever do what I've done it's too frightening

And it's the police cells all night long and

It's not for kids like us in them

Rotten police cells all night long

From "Rattle Your Cool", a collection of
poetry and art by children and young people
who are being looked after.
