NEW FOR 2005 LONDON'S MOST EXCITING BRIDGE!

BRIDGE-TASTIC GOINGS-ON
Don't just see it, live it! Come inside Tower Bridge and discover London from 42 metres above The Thames. From the East and West Walkways, visitors can enjoy stunning views across London and have fun identifying the many sights of our capital. With interactive computer displays, talking telescopes and viewing platforms, visitors can learn about the history of the bridge and it's modern day role. Travel back to 1886 in the atmospheric North and South Towers and experience Sir Horace Jones' creativity in designing the bridge and it's enduring success via giant video screens.

THE VICTORIAN ENGINE ROOMS

Soak up the atmosphere as Tower Bridge Exhibition travels back to 1894 and describes the daily grind in powering this enormous bridge. 120 men working around the clock were needed to keep up with the demands of the river traffic as the Thames continued to expand as one of England's busiest rivers. Check out the beautifully restored original Victorian engines that used to power the bridge and head for the hands on models so you can say you have raised Tower Bridge.

BRIDGE LIFTS

Check out the awe inspiring sight of Tower Bridge at work as the Tower Bridge engineers gear up for a busy season of bridge lifts this summer.
With each bridge lift lasting on average around 6 minutes, the Bridge Driver, and his team work around the clock to make sure all the river traffic from sailing barges to giant seafaring vessels can pass down the Thames and continue their journey safely.
