I'm
not a wonderful person
After all I'm only me
Nor am I a special pupil
Just one who thinks differently
I'm
not really a problem
Just a threat to the status quo
I'm not basically deficient
But there are things I don't yet know
I'm
not an inanimate object
A "does he take sugar?" case
There's a soul and a spirit in here somewhere
If only you'd look in my face
Agreed
I might disrupt the system
Rattle your cool just a touch
But if it gets me a place in society
Is it really asking so much?
If
I explained this to you in person
Then I know you would soon see the light
From "Rattle Your Cool", a collection of
poetry and art by children and young people
who are being looked after.
